SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) — Palestinian representative in Non-aligned summit underway in Tehran hopes for achieving objectives of the Palestinian nation and also United Nations membership.
Riyadh Mansour, Palestinian UN observer, attended 16th NAM summit in Tehran hailed Iran’s hosting of the event and said Palestinian resistance will continue till return of the people to their land, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said, “The question of returning to our land will continue as far as it is supported by NAM and Palestinian people accomplish their objective of ending the occupation.”
Riyadh Mansour also stressed the demands of the Palestinian people and said, “The demands of the Palestinian nation are accomplishing their independence through exercising self-determination and returning of the refugees to their homes according to resolution 194.”
According to the Palestinian authority, NAM is the strongest political group after the UN in affirming the rights of the Palestinian people and supporting the Palestinian question.
“We expect the help from the leadership of Iran and NAM to continue their support for Palestine even to be taken to higher levels especially in becoming a member of the UN.”
Riyadh Mansour also expressed his hope for success of Tehran NAM summit.
He also said, “From our side the fact that we bring our president heading a large delegation indicates that we hope for success of the meeting.”
Iranian capital of Tehran is hosting 16th Non-aligned Movement summit on 26-31 August, 2012.
Contrary to pressures by some western countries, delegates from more than 100 countries have arrived in Tehran while luminaries and top level figures are also expected to arrive for the summit on 30-31 August.—www.shafaqna.com/English
