SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) — Given that you can auction off just about anything on eBay, there have been some rather odd postings in the past. However it looks like eBay will soon be clamping down on them and beginning in September, the online auction website will be banning “advice, spells, curses, hexing, conjuring, magic, prayers, blessing services, magic potions, [and] healing sessions,” as part of its updated policy. They will also be removing category listings for psychic readings and tarot card sessions.
While we’re not sure how many people actually surf on over to eBay to search for magic spells and whatnot, we guess that given that these practices do occur in real life and there are shops dedicated to the occult, it was only natural that it would eventually make its way onto eBay as well. In any case this move by eBay is part of their “multi-year effort…to build trust in the marketplace and support sellers,” at least according to their blog. So if you were planning on getting your spells, potions and magical goodies via eBay, you might have to start looking for a new source!—www.shafaqna.com/english
