Saudi Arabia accomplice in Quran burning by remaining silent

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) — “Saudi Arabian officials who consider themselves the custodians of the Ka’aba [in Mecca] and the House of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) [Mohammad in Medina] have not only remained silent on the Quran burning by the Americans, but have also gone along with them,” Mohammad Esmail Kowsari said Monday.

On April 29, a radical American pastor, Terry Jones, who on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks last year burnt copies of the Muslim holy book, repeated his heinous act at a Florida church.

Kowsari, who is deputy head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said the Quran burning is the result of US failures in confronting Iran, Fars News Agency reported.

“This heinous act stems from the policies adopted by the Zionist regime’s and American politicians who after their defeats from Iran are trying show the holy [Muslim] book is responsible for their worldly failures by burning and desecrating the Quran.”

The lawmaker added that those who burned the Quran were taking out their psychological problems on the holy book and on the other hand they wanted to provoke Muslims.

Kowsari stated that if all Muslim countries take a unified stance on the Quran desecration and voice their objection, the enemies would no longer burn holy book of Islam or disrespect it.
