SHAFAQNA (Shia News Association) - UPDATE 2 - Saudi forces have arrested Ayatollah Sheikh Nemer Baqir Al-Nemer on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at around 5 pm local time after a pursuit by Saudi police belonging to the investigation branch in Qatif.
According to local residents, loud gun firing were heard and the pursuit ended with Ayatollah Al-Nemer’s car hitting a wall of a nearby house.
Sources close to Ayatollah Al-Nemer indicated that the Ayatollah has been injured without conforming whether the injury was due to the gun firing or the car accident.
Shortly after the car accident, police members took Ayatollah Al-Nemer to an unknown place while his car was left on its spot.
Released pictures showed severe damages to the car as a result of the pursuit leading to the accident. Also shown are the bullets on the car due to the firing.
As soon as the incident was spread, thousands of people gathered and are currently protesting and marching from Awwamya towards the heart of the province, Qatif.

Sources indicate that Saudi forces opened fire on Ayatollah Nemer Al-Nemer in his car injuring him and then went on to arrest him in Awwamiya.
